Q: HOW
LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
A: AHI Inspections Inc. is an independent home
inspection company and has been in operation successfully for over 6 years.
Q: WHAT
ARE YOUR INSPECTORS' QUALIFICATIONS?
A: Our inspectors are certified home inspectors
and licensed contractors. They have all graduated from intensive home
inspection training programs and go through an on-going semi-annual
training.
Q: CAN I FOLLOW ALONG AT THE INSPECTION?
A: AHI Inspections Inc. encourages the clients to
come along on the inspection and observe the areas the inspection is
conducted. It is a perfect opportunity to ask specific questions about the
condition of the home. Also, where defects are identified, the inspector can
discuss these so that you understand what repairs are required, when and the
estimated cost. If an inspector does not allow you to go to the inspection,
don’t use them.
Q: DO YOU FOLLOW OAHI GUIDELINES?
A: The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors
guidelines govern the scope of a professional home inspection. These
guidelines are your assurance of completeness of coverage of the substantive
physical components that make up your home. AHI's inspectors are governed by
these guidelines and held to a strict code of ethics that prohibits
potential conflicts of interest.
Q: HOW MUCH DOES AN INSPECTION COST?
A: There is an hourly fee charged for an
inspection. However there are factors that can affect the rate.
Q: HOW LONG DOES AN INSPECTION TAKE?
A: A typical home inspection takes between 2 and 3 hours. Some older
and/or larger homes can take longer.
